No-Till means digging as little as possible!
Using No-Till methods to add nutrients to the surface, letting gravity and water carry them into the soil, fostering natural aeration with worms and ‘good’ bugs, and leaving the soil’s microbiome intact. This not only saves work, it saves the natural system that improves the soil.
Consider that rainforests are amazingly fertile for centuries until they are clear-cut for conventional farmland, then the soil is depleted in a matter of years. Nature developed countless intricate ways to cycle nutrients. By working with these systems rather than fighting them, we can improve our soil by refocusing our efforts and learning from the land.
